Pale purple in the glass going a touch thin to the edges. Ripe black cherry jam on the nose with a hint of vanilla. A touch off dry on the palette. Lots of fruit but the acid and light soft tannins are not quite enough to hold it in check. This is a very soft wine, more like a California Merlot than what one would expect from the North Fork. Bell peppers with a touch of white pepper on a medium finish. A bit disappointing from this otherwise excellent vintner.
