Lovely straw to golden colors in the glass. Aromas of fresh bread, yeast, baked apples, and almonds, deep and brooding. Opens with marked bakery and cheese flavors. Gives way to more classic fruits of ripe pears and baked apples, with almonds toast, and balanced with lively acidity but still retaining background of dark earthiness. Lovely mousse, tight and active. Finishes long with almonds, pears, and yeast. This is a very rich wine, very challenging and deep. Beautiful with cheeses or shellfish especially in the winter to accentuate its dark mood.
