Medium garnet in the glass thinning on the edges. Leather, ripe plum, smoke and anise on the bouquet. Lovely and aromatic. Fruit forward, ripe black plums with currants. Developing cedar, smoke, chalk, meat; excellent balance acid and fruit with earth earthy counterpoint to provide interest. Lovely long finish rich round oak and grape tannins. Slight rasp on the palette form grape tannins. Well made medium body merlot. Finish shows characteristic pepper and spice of a North Fork merlot. Good as an aperitif. Sufficient body and acids to pair with grilled meats or roasts.
