Pale straw in the glass with green highlights on this Niagara Escarpment estate unoaked Chardonnay. Aromas of Meyers lemon, tangerine, and vibrant floral notes on the bouquet. Opens with juicy golden apples and ripe Bartlett pears Develops Granny Smith and some spice over peaches and melons. Very clean flavors but textures are succulent. Shows interesting contrasts and flavor counterpoints. Light and refreshing but not a vacuous quaffer. Although seeming easy-drinking the wine shows complexity and contrasts unusual in an unoaked Chardonnay; impressive. Finish is very surprising changing themes from orchard and stone fruit to big flavors of acid driven grapefruit flavors. Extends the contrasting lietmotif to the entire wine. Excellent wine as an aperitif. Perfect for summer picnics and parties. Pair with cheeses, olives, or savory appetizers. Well priced.
