Light to medium garnet and brick in the glass thinning on the rim. Cherries, a touch of currants, and dried fig aromas over distinct earth, mushroom and dried leaves notes with a touch of tar on the bouquet; complex and rich. Opens with some spice and Bing cherries developing more earth focused themes of smoke, leather, and light tar flavors. Medium bodied wine exhibits distinctive Cabernet Franc earth focus. Textures exhibit a tinge of viscosity contrasting a primarily dusty complexion. Tannins are restrained but well integrated. Finish shows cedar, pepper, and dust with solid mouthwatering acids loamy minerals and classic green pepper notes. This wine could work nicely as a winter aperitif. Pair with game fowl or demiglace based stews.
