Pale straw in the glass with some green sparkles on the 2008 Tocai Friulano-Sylvanus Vineyard. Complex aromas of citrus, anise seed, floral perfumes, and herbal notes on the bouquet; distinctly aromatic. Flavors open with stone fruits and ripe pears over developing grapefruit and lemon zest punch. Displays mineral undercurrents and developing almond flavors. Smooth lanolin textures contrast and balance mouthwatering acidity on a medium weight. Neutral wood aging softens what could otherwise be a quite angular wine. Finish demonstrates a range of citrus tones with lemon juice predominating over almond and white pepper notes. Juicy and mouthwatering acidity presents over earth flavors. Displays a good length building before dissipating. Pair with air cured ham or other charcuterie with especially creamy cheeses and bread; also has enough punch to stand up to smoked fish.
