Millbrook Vineyards 2008 Cabernet Franc is a medium ruby in the glass. Light bouquet of bramble fruit and sweet cherries balance winter spices and caramel notes. The New York State appellation leads one to guess that the grapes probably came from outside the Hudson Valley. Flavors are fruit focused with raspberry and blackberry leading the way. Tannins are grippy but tempered by some softer textures. Medium bodied wine Finish get short and shows an overstatement of tannins and wood. Tannins are probably too much for a cocktail wine. Pair with London Broil marinated with teriyaki or a grilled hanger steak.
